Rules that hold
Required fields, unique IDs and valid choices are checked on the server, so a record can't be saved half-finished or duplicated.
Regulated teams usually choose between tools they can shape but can't defend in an inspection, and systems they can defend but can't shape. Qualsted is built to be both.

A general summary of the categories, from public product documentation as of October 2026. Capabilities vary by product, plan and add-on, and change often: check the details with each vendor.
Notion, Airtable, Smartsheet, ClickUp and SharePoint are excellent for planning and collaboration. Controlled records need more than they were designed for.
Traditional quality and lab systems are built around the modules they ship. When your process doesn't fit, you change the process, or pay for a project.

Required fields, unique IDs and valid choices are checked on the server, so a record can't be saved half-finished or duplicated.
No copies by email, no “final_v3” files. Everyone works on the same record, and its history shows every change.
Import your spreadsheets: every row is checked against the table's rules first, and problems are reported by row before anything is created.
We'd rather tell you now than after you've bought it.
If you need results flowing straight from lab instruments, a dedicated LIMS will serve you better. Qualsted connects to other systems through its API and webhooks (and Slack and Teams), but doesn't read instrument files.
If you want hundreds of prebuilt, pre-configured processes on day one, established eQMS vendors ship more. Qualsted starts you with 17 (CAPA, document control, internal audits, first articles, HACCP and more) that you change freely, and you build the rest.
If nothing you keep needs signatures, locks or an audit trail, a general workspace app is simpler and cheaper.
